Our next meeting is this Monday, November 17 at Bill Magyar’s house (note the bulletin announcement this past Sunday was incorrect, but should be right this weekend).  Food will be served at 7:00, and the meeting will begin at 7:30 PM.  Directions to Bill’s house are as follows:

1. Starting at St. Benedict’s
2. Exit driveway and turn left onto Parsons Rd
3. Go past entrances to Parsons Run and Randolph Hill

Last night we had the honor of presenting a check to Alberto’s widow, Luisa, a check for $6,000 from our fundraising efforts.  The generosity of our parish family continues to warm my heart.  Needless to say Luisa was overwhelmed by the amount of the check, and is extremely moved and thankful.  I would like to thank all of you who have made this possible.  Also, a big thank you to Ang for allowing us to use his house to host the dinner to present the check last night. 

Last Monday we had 4 new members join our ranks:  Greg McGrail, Steve Campbell, Mike Dawkins, and Mark Von Plinksy.  Please join me in welcoming these 4 gentlemen to the Council.

Last weekend we also kicked off our Keep Christ in Christmas program by selling the KCIC car magnets.  We had a pretty strong weekend, considering it was the first weekend and I was unable to get an announcement in the bulletin or pulpit announcements.  Vince Pustateri is working hard to make sure we have coverage for all masses, but needs your help this weekend as he is traveling.  Please get in touch with Vince to let him know which masses you will be able help out with.  All it takes is about 15 minutes after Mass to man the table.  This is a small sacrifice to make to help us spread the important message as we approach the Christmas season. 

We have been asked by the Music Ministry to help them out again buy pouring Champagne for the reception that follows their Christmas concert. We will need 2 guys to leave the concert early to start pouring, and about 4 more to come back and help serve after the event.  I will be passing around a sign up sheet at the meeting.  If you are not able to make the meeting, but are able to help out please let me know. 

Our Council Christmas Party will be December 14^th in the PLC, starting around 1:30 PM.  John and Carol will be preparing the usual turkey dinner with all the trimmings, and there will be a visit from the big man himself (Santa Clause, not Fr. Paul) for the kids.  Please check your calendars and let John know if you will be able to attend.  He will also need to know the ages of your children so he can make sure Santa has presents for all the little ones. 

There has been a change in the 1^st Degree schedule in our District.  The December Degree at St. Monica’s has moved to 12/1.  Hopefully we will have one or 2 new members that can make that night.  There is also a 2^nd Degree on 11/22/08 at All Saints in Dunwoody.  If you are able to make this 2^nd Degree, please let me know so I can coordinate someone from our Council who can escort you.  I don’t have the final times, but I would guess that it will be around 9 or 10 AM.  I recommend all 1^st Degree members try to make this degree, so we can have a big group at the 3^rd Degree on 1/31/09 at St. Monica. 

We will be hosting Our Lady of Charity Icon at St. Benedict from 12/13 – 12/17.  I have talked to Ken about possibly doing a prayer hour while it is in the church.  More details will follow.

I will be placing an order soon for new name badges.  We should be supplying them at council expense for new members.  If you need a badge, please let me know how you want your name to appear, and if it is a new or a replacement.
