Our next meeting is Monday 3/16/09, at Nick Marrick’s.  Food will be at 7:00 PM and the meeting will begin at 7:30 PM.  Here are the directions to Nick’s, starting at the church:

 

1. Starting at St. Benedict Church, turn RIGHT onto Parsons Rd (go 0.6 miles)
2. Turn LEFT onto Abbotts Bridge Rd / GA-120 (go 0.9 miles)
3. Turn RIGHT onto Jones Bridge Rd (go 2.0 miles)
4. Turn RIGHT onto McGinnis Ferry Rd (go 0.5 miles)
5. Turn LEFT onto Brassfield Dr (go 0.4 miles)

Week 3 of the Fish Fry is tonight, and the following people have volunteered:  Patrick Gannon, Nick Marrick (depending on weather), Mike Dawkins, Bob Zopf (late shift), Mike Foutch, Lou Coroso, Mike Stapleton, Mike Sullivan, Mark Von Plinsky, Greg McGrail (late shift), and Joe Shaginaw.  The first 2 weeks have gone very well, and thank you to all who have helped out so far.

 

Tommorrow is the Council’s St. Patrick’s Day party.  If you have signed up to help out in the morning, or would like to help, please be in the kitchen by 9:00 AM.  We will be peeling potatoes, cutting cabbage, and whatever Master Chef Carol needs us to do.  Ang will also need some helpers with decorating the PLC. 

 

Last Sunday at the 10:45 mass, we had the honor to present Bill O’Neal with the 2008 Knight of the Year award.  If you were unable to make it, Bill’s son Mark and his family there to share in the experience with Bill and the parrish.  My thanks and congratulations to Bill for all he has done for our council, and the continual support he gives us.  Bill is a model Knight who has faithfully served our Council, our Church, our community, and God with humility and persistence.

 

Due to a scheduling conflict, we will need to move the date of the pancake breakfast to raise money for the Ultrasound Project.  I had it on the calendar for April 19^th, but forgot that is a Donut Sunday.  I would like to move it to 4/25, but will need someone to lead it.  Judy is out of town that weekend with the Women’s Guild Getaway weekend, so I won’t be able to do it.  If you are interested in running this, please let me know.  I have all the details on what supplies we will need, and we have plenty of experienced baconators, syrup filler-uppers, flippers (though none better than Flipper Dukes), and general Souse chefs. 

 

At the end of this month (3/29) is the Flag Retirement Ceremoney with the Boy Scouts.  Bob Zopf is organizing an Honor Guard.  If you are a 4th Degree and can help out with the Guard, contact Bob (pgk10897@hotmail.com or 678-733-1590).

 

The Council shirts and aprons are in!!!  At the 2 last meetings Bob Zopf has been taking orders for Council T-Shirts, Golf Shirts, and long Sleeve shirts.  He also ordered new aprons for the council.  If you ordered a shirt, please bring your money to the meeting on Monday.  The Council did order some extra t-shirts and golf shirts, so if you were not able to order one but would like one, let Bob know.

 

Thank you to all of you who make this council run.  I am proud of the activities we are able to support, and the knowledge that our council can be counted on to rise up when called upon.  Please keep up the great work.
