We have several events in the month of December to talk about:  Holiday Pops Concert 12/6, Crazy Bingo Night 12/13, Our Lady of Charity Icon at St. Benedict 12/13 – 12/17, and our Christmas Party 12/14. 

Of course we will still need all of your help selling magnets after masses and outside the Church.  If you have not already, ask Vince for some magnets to take to work.  I have a stack just sitting on my desk, and have sold 6 without asking anyone.  Also, remember to put yours on your car (I need to do this myself) as this is sometimes the best advertising.  Talk to your neighbors, friends, and relatives. They make great presents and stocking stuffers.  The bulletin and pulpit announcements should start running this weekend.  Please work with Vince ((404) 285-5188 or vince_jp@hotmail.com) to make sure all masses are covered.  If you are setting up the table, the magnets are in our closet (the key is in our mail slot), and there is a small Vera Wang box that he is using for the money.  We also have an easel with a sign on it that you should set up. 

For the Holiday Pops concert I think we should be in good shape.  Here is the list of volunteers I have:  Leaving concert early to start pouring the champagne:  Patrick Gannon, Chad Burbrink, and Bob Zopf.  Helping after the concert in addition: Al Kovalchik, Mike Foutch, Vince Pusateri, and Angelo Sampona.  If you would like to help out, please let me know.  Also, if you previously signed up and can no longer help; let me know ASAP so I can get more volunteers.  For the people who will be leaving the concert early, Nancy Shields has asked us to check in at 7:15 with the reception/volunteer coordinator, Heidi Eveleigh she will be able to coordinate things and give them a more definitive time to leave the concert.  Her guess is you should leave before the sing-along.

Our Council Christmas Party will be December 14^th in the PLC, starting around 1:30 PM.  John and Carol will be preparing the usual turkey dinner with all the trimmings, and there will be a visit from the big man himself (Santa Clause, not Fr. Paul) for the kids.  Please check your calendars and respond to the Evite invitation or let John (jmeurer@ndacademy.org) know if you will be able to attend.  He will also need to know the ages of your children so he can make sure Santa has presents for all the little ones. 

We will be hosting Our Lady of Charity Icon at St. Benedict from 12/13 – 12/17.  Our Lady of Charity has special significance to the Knights of Columbus, given the Order's first principle of Charity, which was also the theme of Pope Benedict XVI’s first encyclical, Deus Caritas Est.  Therefore, although the Virgin of Charity has her origins in Cuba, devotion to her is altogether appropriate for Knights of Columbus everywhere.  As a sign of spiritual solidarity with Pope Benedict XVI, the Holy Father and his intentions will be remembered during the prayer services.  I have talked to Ken about possibly doing a prayer hour while it is in the church.  We are thinking about having a small prayer service on 12/13 when it arrives and doing the Supreme’s Marian Prayer Service for the Parrish on either the 15^th or 16^th.

We have been asked to serve food and drinks at the Crazy Bingo Night on 12/13.  Angelo will be requesting 4-5 men to volunteer to help serve, probably from 6 PM – 9:30 PM.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact Ang ((770) 476-9236 or kasdf@aol.com)

I will be placing an order soon for new name badges.  We should be supplying them at council expense for new members.  If you need a badge, please let me know how you want your name to appear, and if it is a new or a replacement.
