Brother Knights,
Our next meeting is this Monday, October 20th in the PLC. Food will be served at 7:00, and the meeting will begin at 7:30 PM.
We have another busy weekend coming up next weekend (Oct. 25 & 26TH) with the Halloween Hoe-Down and the Pancake Breakfast for Alberto Figuerdo’s family. For the Hoe-Down we will be cooking the burgers and dogs in the afternoon and serving during the event. I think Nick has enough to cook, but may need one or 2 more people to help serve from 6:30 – 8:30 PM. If you are available, contact Nick Marrick (404) 434-0067 or marrickmachine@aol.com).
The Pancake Breakfast will after the 7:15, 8:45, and 10:45 masses on Sunday October 26. The Women’s Guild has agreed to help us serve and work the front table again. We will need a strong team of Kinghts in setting up, cooking, running, filling drinks/syrup, and clearing tables. We will start around 6:30 AM and go until we are done. If you are able to help out, please let me know. If you can’t work the entire morning, let me know what times you can help. The last breakfast we did helped raise $4,500 for the Ramos family, and hopefully this will be as successful.
A big thank you to Vince Pusateri (404) 285-5188 or vince_jp@hotmail.com), who agreed to be the chairman for the Keep Christ in Christmas car magnet campaign. He will need a lot of help at the Holiday Bazaar (11/8), selling after masses (starting weekend of 11/8), and taking magnets to sell on your own. Remember to talk to you family, neighbors, co-workers, etc.
Remember that on 10/27 at 7:00 PM there will be a Knight’s Memorial Prayer Service and Benediction for our fallen Knights. Please plan to attend.
The US and Papal flags are in need of replacement. John has talked with Fr. Paul about replacing them, and we approved funds to buy replacement flags. One Sunday in November (probably the 16th) we will have an Honor Guard to replace the flags. Also we will contact the Boy Scouts about doing an official flag retirement ceremony and announcing to the Parrish that then can drop off old flags they may have to be properly disposed of.
We have been asked by the Music Ministry to help them out again buy pouring
Ang had a meeting with Fr. Paul on Monday to discuss some activities that he would like the Knights to help support raising money for the Teens trip to
We have several gentlemen who are interested in joining the Knights, and each person has been assigned to a member to follow up. The upcoming 1st Degrees in our District are: 11/10 St. Brendan, 12/8 St. Monica; 1/20 St. Benedict, 2/2 Good Sheppard, 3/9 St. Brendan, 4/13 St. Monica, 5/18 St. Benedict, and 6/1 Good Sheppard.
