Remember, since Monday is Labor Day, our next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 2nd in room 7 in the RE building. Food will be served at 7:00 and the meeting will begin at 7:30 PM.
My heartfelt thanks go out to all members who helped support the Pancake Breakfast for the Isaias Ramos family last Sunday. With all of your hard work, and the support of the Women’s Guild, we were able to raise $3,600 for the family. This far exceeds my expectations, and is a tribute to the kindness of our Parrish Community. Our hope is that Orlando Ramos, Isaias’ father, will be able to attend our meeting so we can present him the check.
On September 15, we will be hosting a 1st Degree at St. Benedict. If there are any potential members you have been working on recruiting, now is the time to get them to fill out a form 100 and have them read in. We are hurting for new members to become active in our events. When you are talking to a “prospect” and they are throwing out that they are too busy, ask if they can spare just 1-2 hours a month. It does not take a full-time commitment to make a difference and support the activities we do. If you have a candidate, and they have filled out a form 100, make sure to either bring it to the meeting or drop it in our mail slot so we can have them read in. There are blank form 100’s in the mail slot if you need them.
We will be selling donuts for the RSVP program after the morning masses on Sunday Sept. 14th. Mike Foutch will be coordinating again this month, and after the success of last month, he will need a lot of support. Please plan on sticking around after Mass that weekend to help him out.
The annual Soccer Challenge and Family picnic will be held at the church on September 21st. The Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge is designed for players to demonstrate the most basic of soccer skills — the penalty kick. The Soccer Challenge is open to all boys and girls in our community, ages 10-14. We will do this on the parking deck, and following we will have our family picnic in the PLC. Everyone who participates, regardless if they are a Knight, will be invited to join us. There will be no charge for this event.

Our Keep Christ in Christmas magnets are in!! I know it is only August, and I am the last person who wants to start talking about Christmas before Thanksgiving, but since that is when many stores start their advertising, we need to be prepared to get our message out. Start thinking about ways and places to sell the magnets other than after mass (we will be doing that as well, don’t worry). We are selling them for $5.00 this year. If you think you will be able to sell some on your own, just let me know how many you want.
