Brother Knights,

First off, I would like to thank everyone who helped out with the Teacher Formation Luncheon and the Summer Musical the past 2 weekends.  These were 2 great events, and the support of the Knights was greatly appreciated.  Also, a big thank you goes out to Mike Foutch who ran the donut sales this weekend.  We sold out (80 boxes) before the main rush after the 10:45 PM mass.  We could have sold probably 30 more boxes, especially thanks to the “pitch” Fr. Paul gave us.  If you see Fr. Paul, thank him for the announcement he made at the end of mass.  We had a lot of people looking to buy boxes, and several actually gave us money for the RSVP program anyway. 

On August 24^th, we will be holding a pancake breakfast to help raise money for the Isaias Ramos family after the morning masses.  I am working with Joy at the church to have a bulletin and pulpit announcements this weekend and next.  I have also asked Fr. Paul and Fr. Stephen if they would make an announcement after masses this weekend to help bring awareness.  We will need a lot of help that morning, so please let me know if you are able to assist us.

On September 15, we will be hosting a 1^st Degree at St. Benedict.  If there are any potential members you have been working on recruiting, now is the time to get them to fill out a form 100 and have them read in.  We are hurting for new members to become active in our events.  When you are talking to a “prospect” and they are throwing out that they are too busy, ask if they can spare just 1-2 hours a month.  It does not take a full-time commitment to make a difference and support the activities we do. 

Our Keep Christ in Christmas magnets are in!!  I received them last week, and will be putting them in our closet.  I know it is only August, and I am the last person who wants to start talking about Christmas before Thanksgiving, but since that is when many stores start their advertising, we need to be prepared to get our message out.  Start thinking about ways and places to sell the magnets other than after mass (we will be doing that as well, don’t worry).  We are selling them for $5.00 this year.  If you think you will be able to sell some on your own, just let me know how many you want. 

Our next meeting is this Monday in the PLC.  Food will be at 7:00 PM and the meeting will begin at 7:30 PM.  Remember to check our website for information on our upcoming events, officer list, and other important information.  I welcome any suggestions to enhance the site.  Below is the schedule of our upcoming events.
