Brother Knights,
We had a very productive meeting this week, and my thanks to those of you who were able attend. After several discussions around the proposed addendums to the our Council By-Laws, they were brought for a vote and passed. I am preparing a letter to the Supreme Advocate, along with the approved addendums for his review.
We also have decided to order Council shirts. Bob Zopf (pgk10897@hotmail.com) has been in contact with the company, and will be placing the initial order. If you would like to purchase any of the following, please contact Bob directly. The council has purchased some extra t-shirts and golf shirts that will be available as well:
John and Ang need several volunteers to help with St. Patrick’s Day. On 3/14 at 9:00 AM, we will be meeting in the kitchen to peel and cut potatoes, and chop the cabbage. If you can help out, please email John (jmeurer@ndacademy.org) directly. We also will need people to help plate the food and serve during the Party, and work shifts to bar tend. He will need about 8 teams (you and your wife, friend, or another Knight) to bring the plates of food out, clear the tables, and bring out dessert. If we have enough teams, you will probably be responsible for 2 or 3 tables. If you can help serve, email John(jmeurer@ndacademy.org) directly. If you are willing to work a shift (probably 30-45 minutes) bar tending, email Ang (Kasdf@aol.com).
There are still tickets available for the Party, so if you have not bought yours yet, get them while they last. Please invite your friends and neighbors as well. This promises to be a great event, and keep in mind this is fundraiser for our Council.
A big thank you goes out to Mark Von Plinsky and Greg McGrail for agreeing to run the Vidalia Onions sales this year. We are expecting them to be in for the last weekend in April. Look for more details from Mark and Greg in the upcoming weeks.
This Friday is week 2 for our Lenten Fish Fry, and it will be a 60’s theme. John Zibrida’s band will be entertaining us and we are encouraging people to get dressed up in the 60’s era duds. I think we should be in good shape in the kitchen this week. Here are the people who have volunteered so far:
Saturday is Habitat day. We are meeting at the church no later than 7:00 AM. It looks like we should have some good weather (please don’t let me jinx this). We have 7 people signed up so far, but there is room for more if you are interested. If you want to help out, let me know and we will see you Saturday. Here is the list of volunteers so far:
Our next meeting is 3/26/09, and Nick has offered up his basement. I will send out directions closer to the meeting.
