Dear Brothers,

 

Here are the notes from our meeting last Tuesday  – January 19 - where we again had a very good turnout for the meeting.

 

1.       Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM by GK – 28 Knights present at meeting.

 

2.       The Grand Knight report included the following updates:

 

o   Special Olympics will be having support / focus from the Knights of Columbus – Bob Dukes to chair this effort

o   Father Carlos will help with Hispanic First Degree at new Mission in Duluth – Degree Team is in place

o   We had two brothers attend their second degree on Wednesday at Council 660 – congratulations to Rick Critelli and Rick Phillips

o   We have several brothers who are attending a 3rd Degree at Notre Dame academy this morning (1/23)

o   Grand Knight advises the council be mindful of expenses and reduce spending where possible.

o   Upcoming Dates:

·         Jan 25, 2010 - Fish Fry taste test, new food vendor 6:00-6:30

o   1st Lenten Fish Fry Feb 19, 2010

o   Need 6-8 guys each Friday until March 26, 2010

·         Feb 1, 2010 -  Council 10633 Business Meeting

·         Feb 8, 2010 – Officers Meeting at Angelo’s house

·         Feb 13, 2010 -  Marriage Renewal/Day of Reflection – Ken Brooke coordinating

·         Feb 16, 2010 -  Council 10633 Social Meeting (Tuesday)

·         Feb 20, 2010 – K of C Free Throw Contest – at Holy Redeemer – more info coming

·         Feb 28, 2010 -  Pancake Breakfast Fund Raiser

·         Mar 6, 2010 -  Banks and Shane Concert, approx 300 people, sandwiches and beer – Tom Cook - Chairman

·         April 28, 2010 – Pancake Breakfast

 

3.       June 13th will be the celebration of Father Floods 20 Year Anniversary – in PLC

 

4.       September 26th – Dedication Mass at 10:45 for New Family Life Center Building

 

5.       Chancellors Report – Council will again be providing Mothers Day’s Roses with Prayer Cards

 

6.       Our Worthy Financial Secretary urges all members who have yet to pay their annual dues – to do so quickly to avoid reminder statements from being sent out.

 

7.       Family of the Month Awards Announced:

·         October 2010 – Sam Rietta

·         December 2010 – Mike Turchin

 

8.       The next 4th Degree Meeting will be Wednesday, February 10thth and will be held at Notre Dame Academy.

 

9.       More information regarding the concession stand fund raising opportunity is being prepared – stay tuned.

 

10.   Meeting closed at 8:50 pm with prayer by GK.
