Dear Brothers,

 

Here are the notes from our meeting last Monday where we again had a very good turnout for both the meeting and the First Degree Exemplification:

 

1.       Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM by GK – 37 Knights present at meeting with Father Carlos as acting Chaplin

 

2.       Keith Jones Form 100 Read and approved by membership

 

3.       St. Benedict Council conducted a First Degree Exemplification which was conferred on the following new members which we warmly welcome to our council:

 

·         John Puetz

·         Ron Carr

·         Keith Jones

·         William Moon

·         John Farr

 

4.       GK read a thank you note from Fr. Paul for our past support and recent gifts from the council

 

5.       GK provided an update on the Parish Family Center building fund to which 787 parishioners have participated and have pledged $834,654 to date

 

6.       The new building dedication for the new Parish Family Center will be on September 26, 2010 with the Archbishop presiding. A reception will follow.

 

7.       Upcoming Degrees

 

·         Jan 14, 2010 -  1st Degree in McDonough, GA @ 6:30 PM

·         Jan 20, 2010 -  1st (at 6:30 PM) and 2nd Degree (at 7:45 PM) at Council 660 (I-85 and Druid Hills – First K of C Council in Atlanta – note the low council number!!!)

·         Jan 16, 2010 -  2nd Degree in McDonough, GA @ 11:00 AM

·         Jan 23, 2010 -  3rd Degree at Notre Dame Academy, Duluth, GA @ 9:30 AM

 

·         Please contact Joe Dawidowicz, Angelo Sampona or Rick Ooten if you would like to attend any of these upcoming degrees

·         Jan 16, 2010 - Grand Knight Meeting at St. Peter Chanel

·         Jan 19, 2010 - Council 10633 Social Meeting (Tuesday)

·         Jan 23,2010 -  Art Auction PFC Fund Raiser

·         Jan 25, 2010 - Fish Fry taste test, new food vendor 6:00-6:30

o   1st Lenten Fish Fry Feb 19, 2010

o   Need 6-8 guys each Friday until March 26, 2010

·         Feb 1, 2010 -  Council 10633 Business Meeting

·         Feb 13, 2010 -  Marriage Renewal/Day of Reflection

·         Feb 16, 2010 -  Council 10633 Social Meeting (Tuesday)

·         Feb 28, 2010 -  Pancake Breakfast Fund Raiser

·         Mar 6, 2010 -  Banks and Shane Concert, approx 300 people, sandwiches and beer

 

9.       The K of C Annual Basketball Free Throw Contest will be held in January 2010 and being coordinated by Ken Brooke. Look for more updates in the near future.

 

10.   District / Quarterly Charity project, Ultrasound Machine Donation --Steve Campbell to chair project

 

11.   PDF document coming with names and phone numbers of all council members – (attached to this email)

 

12.   The next 4th Degree Meeting will be next Wednesday, January 13th and will be held at St. Brendan’s.

 

13.   More information regarding the concession stand fund raising opportunity is being prepared – stay tuned.

 

14.   Worthy Insurance Agent reported that the K of C sold over $7 billion of insurance last year!!!

 

15.   Meeting closed at 9:15 pm with prayer/blessing by Fr. Carlos.
